Waterloo High School Reviews

I have a great deal of respect for this school system as the teaching staff seems to truly care about the students. There are not a great deal of after school activities for children until they hit high school. In h.s. their options are opened up to include activities that range from academics-sports, with many interests in between. I have always found the principal and teaching staff very responsive with questions or concerns and willing to go the extra mile to include me in my children's education. One thing I would change is the curriculum. When my children were younger it seemed they were re-learning the same things year after year and history always seemed to stop at WWII w/a mention of 911 included. Again, now that they're in h.s. this seems to have changed. Combine the aforementioned w/the fact that it's small and you have a winner!

I believe Waterloo teachers are really wonderful teachers.

Overall I would say Waterloo is a decent school. They do concentrate on sports more so than some schools seem to do but along with that comes alot of student involvement. Even with kids not involved directly with the sports teams but involved in pep club or band. If I had to pick out something I don't like it would be that coaches are too close with their students they're coaching.

There is only one good teacher at the waterloo high school and his name is Brian Broda. There are hardly any after school programs. All they care about is sports. More then half the teachers are coaches for the school.

Waterloo Schools are not a good choice. The teachers all seem to coach a least one sport. There are few 'good' teachers. There is not an extensive selection of extracirricular activities to choose from, nor academic programs. This school really just needs new administration, principals, and some teacher reconsideration. The appearance of the school was excellent. It has been newly remodeled, and reconstructed. The only thing that yielded my attention was an extremely large 'weight room'. The exercise equipment looked expensive, and there was a vast variety of machines. Unfortunately, there was not, however, a new computer with internet, and printing capabilities for student use, in every single classroom. In addition, textbooks in the classrooms, and reading material in the libraries were completely out-dated. Tax paying parents' money is being spent on pointless things, instead of learning tools. I think that Waterloo Schools are disorganized, and some employees need to go!
